STOP PLAYING THAT SONG!!

In ALL my years in radio broadcasting the complaint “STOP playing the same songs over and over” is by far the biggest complaint.  I could go on and on and on about the science of radio and why we play some songs a little more than others.  We may get to that with a possible ZOOM meeting or Facebook Live and take questions, concerns.  After all we do this for YOU the listener and value your opinions more than anything.  Another fact is we get calls at times for a REAL off the wall request of an album cut or something.  Of course I have to decline the request and may hear “you guys suck” at that point.  Frustration on the part of the listener BUT in their defense they don’t realize that we obviously don’t have an endless list of every song made that we can play at the drop of a hat.  What that listener loves may just turn off 90 percent of all the other listeners!  It’s mind boggling but again, what we play is for the masses.  I do “slip in” songs that you haven’t heard in a while BUT they are always songs that most listeners will appreciate.  Again, it’s a science.  Trust me…I have a lot of music in my library that you would turn the dial immediately on.  I can listen to those in my truck or at home.  99.9 percent of the time I get calls for songs that we do play and I get them on the air.  Songs that are mainstream and I know you will all love to hear.  YOU are the reason we do this.  One day soon I will do that Facebook Live and field your questions as we strive to be the one of the best Classic Rock stations in the state.  Feel free to send any questions, concerns directly to me at any time.  duffdamos@nrgmedia.com.  You’re the best!  Rock On.
