Gobble Gobble

Well, it’s that time again.  But is it like it was “when we were kids”?  I usually don’t like that cliche’ but as the old days were all about the holidays we now seem to live in an age where everything is drive-thru or disposable.  What I mean is…do we still do the traditional dinners at Grandmas house with all the fixins and the football games?  Do we still have folks at the kitchen table playing a board game?  Do we still cook things from scratch?  I’m not complaining but as I get older I think of how things have changed drastically over the years.  How many folks have turned this holiday in to a day off of work and nothing out of the ordinary.  OR…a quick dinner so everybody can get done and reach in their pocket to look at that damn phone to see if they have any texts or calls.  Like I said, I guess it’s just a sign of the times but I’ll still appreciate the old days when everything was slowed down a little bit.  OK…I’m old(er) and that’s how “WE” did it.  None the less…HAPPY THANKSGIVING and either way please try to give thanks to at least one thing.  The way our world is going I know it’s difficult but I certainly have some blessings I will be thinking about.
