Shot #2 Complete

OK…so I got my second Covid vaccine. Got it at 2pm on Thursday. So, all that I’ve heard I decided I better take Friday off just in case. Well, I got up Friday morning and had a sore arm…and that’s it!!! Ya! Stuck my tongue out at all the people that said “you’ll get a little sick for a day or so”. I walked around on Friday all cocky that I was going to be one of those that only gets the sore arm. Did laundry, other household chores, took a quick walk and thought “I got this”. Well, I got in about 4:30 Friday afternoon and thought “Hmmm, I feel a little chill”. Then by 4:45 I was under a blanket in the recliner! It came on that quick! My face felt like it was on fire and I couldn’t stop shaking with the chills. Then a little nausea and ALL my bones, joints and muscles ached as if I was hit by a commuter bus!!! My cocky turned to the big baby I am when I’m sick!!! Good LORD!!! I fought the chills and got up to go get the thermometer. Uh oh, 98.9! An hour later and 99.3! Then a little while later and 100.1. I guzzled down a cold bottle of water and all of a sudden my chills turned to “GEEZ, it’s hotter than hell in here”. Well, I’m watching one of those Gold shows on the DVR and by 10:30 my temp is coming back down. Then I start feeling a little better and less aches. My second dose of Extra Strength Tylenol is swallowed and I figured I should just go to bed at 11pm. I fell right off to la la land and woke up at 7am on Saturday. Got out of bed and felt like a new man!!!! Well, still a little achy but so much better! By noon I felt like a brand new Duffer!!! Bottom line is even though I went thru an unexpected evening of bad flu like symptoms the end result is I’m done and hopefully can now do my part for me and others around me. Again, the shot didn’t hurt at all and again, the Oneida County Health Dept. did a stellar job in their organization of these “clinics” and I thank them!
