Rock 105.3 - The Northwoods Classic Rock Station

Tucked away just outside Eagle River, Wisconsin, you might almost miss Marksman’s House of BBQ. A humble, hand-painted sign by the road gives you the first hint that you’re about to discover something special. And trust me, it’s worth hitting the brakes for!

Stepping inside, it’s a complete transformation. Forget any preconceived notions from the unassuming exterior; the interior is spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable, and instantly welcoming. It felt like walking into a friend’s home, except this friend serves up some seriously good ‘cue.

The food? Absolutely amazing. I dove into the wings and the baby back ribs, and every bite was perfection. You could distinctly taste that delicious, authentic wood-fired flavor that only comes from food cooked over wood on a specially crafted grill. This isn’t your average BBQ; it’s the real deal, painstakingly prepared.

My only wish? A mac and cheese option! Given the caliber of everything else, I have no doubt they’d create something incredible.

What truly elevated the experience was the atmosphere. It’s a genuine family affair, with most of the staff related. I was incredibly well taken care of as I arrived outside of the dinner hour. A special shout-out to Naya, the granddaughter, who is quite the inventive young lady. She crafted the special Potato Balls and an indescribably delicious sauce to go with them. Her sauce had a unique tang and creaminess that enhanced everything I dipped in it – truly a standout!

The pricing was exactly what you’d expect for such personally crafted, high-quality BBQ. Having eaten BBQ from all over, I can confidently say this was a truly unexpected and fantastic find in the beautiful Wisconsin Northwoods.

If you spot that unassuming BBQ sign near Eagle River, don’t hesitate – pull over and experience Marksman’s House of BBQ. It’s more than worth it!
