Well, on my ride home to Minocqua on Friday I noticed a familiar site. Although I haven’t seen it for quite a few LONG months. The traffic was quite heavy. Cars and trucks pulling boats and campers. ALL headed North! Get to Minocqua and decide to take a ride thru downtown. A familiar site of people walking thru downtown. The eating establishments with parking spaces full. Grocery stores parking lots full. Convenience stores busy with cars gassing up and getting those last minute supplies. Yes, the Northwoods was loaded for the Memorial Day weekend. The Farmers Market in Rhinelander is BACK and looked to be quite busy again. The Flea Market in St. Germain packed on Monday and the vehicles lined up on Highway 70 with all the folks walking thru to find some great deals. People were smiling and businesses hopefully heard the ringing of the cash register again that has of course been absent for a while. Not only a sign that times are changing again for the better from that damn pandemic but times are changing for everybody’s mental health again! Families enjoying each other and did I mention it is so good to see our wonderful businesses enjoying thriving times again??!! Here’s to an even more normal summer ahead and I look forward to seeing MANY people converge on the Northwoods! Hope to run in to you all.
