Well, I hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July weekend. The weather held out just fine for the most part OTHER than the 4th but I think most communities cleared up their skies in order to shoot off the fireworks. A LOT of people converged on the Northwoods despite the price of gas which was so nice to see! So what was your go-to thing on the grill? I saw posts from folks smoking brisket…lots of chicken and steak on the grill and of course the standard BRATS!!! I went for just the standard this weekend. I would not be doing justice as a human to not mention my heart aches for the people of Highland Park, Illinois. Growing up in Waukegan I consider Highland Park a neighboring town. Such a sad tragedy in so many ways. Nobody in our country should be afraid of attending such wonderful family events like this and be in fear for your lives. Highland Park and the people of Highland Parks’ lives have changed forever. They are all in my prayers. As we are at the half way point of summer already I wish you nothing but the safest, best rest of your summer.
